A highly ornate antique Victorian Gothic Revival brass lectern. The central standard is supported by a four point tripod with tall barley twist columns, surmounted by Gothic style finials and linked by cut scrolled screens centred with four panels depicting symbols of the saints. The whole resting on four sturdy claw feet

The book rest panel bears an engraved dedication which reads:
"To the glory of God and in loving memory of Ernest Hugh Malcolm Davies, who died Jan. 24th 1880. This lectern is presented to the Church of S. Mary and S. Peter Kelsale on Easter Day 1881 by loving friends”.
