An elegant serpentine fronted cast iron and brass antique fire grate in the late Georgian manner by Thomas Elsley of London The cartouche relief on the fire back is flanked by olive branches and scrolled acanthus. The barred grate, sits above a pierced apron studded with paterae and mounted by a pair of brass urn finials. The grate is supported by a pair of out-swept standards with paterae and acanthus detailing, topped by a larger pair of urn finials. English, mid to late 19th century.
