Stock No.10796
A large pair of good quality, intricately pierced, burnished cast iron andirons, in the manner of Ernest Gimson. A virtually identical pair resides at the Cheltenham Museum. Gimson was inspired after he drew a pair of 17th century brass and iron andirons he admired at Haddon Hall, a Tudor manor house in Derbyshire. They then had a blacksmith create his interpretation.
English, 19th century.
